About Us

Afghan Education Production Organization (AEPO) has since 1994 produced educational programmes and print material that address a wide range of issues that affect the lives of all Afghans, women and men, young and old. Through radio drama, the AEPO team draws on the experiences of ordinary Afghans to convey messages and ideas that aim to help them address the issues and challenges they face in their everyday lives. These programmes are broadcast on the BBC World Service Pashto and Dari services, as well as on local FM stations across the country, such that the 'New Home, New Life' radio drama has become a household name. To ensure that our output remains relevant, the production team undertakes extensive fieldwork and listener surveys, and uses accessible language in both radio programmes and printed material. AEPO's publications are aimed primarily at young Afghans, but are also being used for those learning literacy. As we diversify our outputs to reflect the changing media environment in Afghanistan, AEPO is committed to retaining our values and goals.
