Hashmat and his sister, Farzana go to the castle. They see that several women are coming out of the castle. Lalo Mama asks Hashmat and Farzana to come toward the castle’s gate. Lalo Mama welcomes them. Hashmat asks Lalo Mama about the women. Lalo Mama takes them inside the castle. Farzana also asks about the women. Lalo Mama says that they need a chief to organize the castle’s affairs and the king ordered to hold the election. Hashmat asks that if women also take part in the election. Lalo Mama replies yes, and adds that all residents of the castle who are 18 years old or more, have the right to take part in the election.

Farzana says that she wanted to take part in the previous election but her father and brother prevented her. Hashmat says that girls are not allowed to take part in the election. Lalo Mama opens a window about this issue for their information.

Window:

In the window, the reporter of the castle says that any Afghan who has completed his/her 18 years of age, has the right to take part in the election. Then the reporter talks to some youths about the participation of girls in the election.

Ihsanullah, a resident of Qarabagh district, Kabul province says: “Men and boys are allowed to take part in the election but we do not allow our women and girls to take part in the election because the villagers hate such women.”

A girl says: “My parents do not let girls to take part in the election and says that it’s shameful for women to cast vote.”

The reporter asks the youths if the women and girls use their votes in the election, what would be its advantage and they do not use the right of their votes, what would be its disadvantage.

Samia says: “My family allowed me to use my vote in the election and I want to cast my vote for a person who would serve for us.”

Nargis, a resident of Qarabagh district says: “I am 18 years old and I have posted a sticker on identity card (Tazkira). My family allowed me to take part in the election and I would cast my vote for the one who would serve our district.”

Lalo Mama closes the window.

Farzana says that those girls were lucky that their families allowed them to use their votes. She asks Lalo Mama that if there is any solution for this issue.

Lalo Mama opens them another window regarding this issue.

Window:

In the window, a drama is shown. Qudsia has returned from her uncle’s house in the city and says to her brother, Ameen that she has posted a sticker on her identity card. Ameen and his father condemn her for posting a sticker on her identity card and say that they would not allow her to take part in the election.

Qudsia says about the advantages and disadvantages of taking part in the election.

Qudsia’s father and brother allow her to take part in the election.

Lalo Mama closes this window too.

Farzana becomes happy and says that she would tell about the advantages of the election.

Hashmat promises that when goes home, he would convince his father to allow Farzana and his family other women to take part in the election.
