Home war in Afghanistan caused to destruct the country; die millions of people and leave many widows.
Those widows, who could not get their inheritance, are facing many problem.
A widow says to the writer/producer of AEPO:
“When I lost my husband in the war, he left me two small daughters. After sometime, one of my daughters died and my father-in-law took the second one with him. He did not pay me my inheritance and said me that I am a stranger to them and asked me to leave their home. Now I am alone and can do nothing, because I have heart disease and I don’t know what to do?”
Zamir, a resident of Qarabagh, district of Kabul province says that they don’t have the custom to pay the rights of inheritance to widows.
Ruhullah Habibi, a scholar of legal affairs says: “ The reasons for not paying the rights of widows are summarized into three parts: violence against women, traditions and unawareness of the people about the rights of widows inheritance.”
How to solve this problem?
Kafayatullah, a clergy says:” The rights of inheritance for widow in Islam, who has children are eight quarter of her husband’s properties and who has no children, could get four quarter of his properties.”
Ruhullah Habibi says that there is a main office of law in Kabul and sub offices in other provinces. Widow could solve their problem by referring to those offices
