Less Benefit, More Sale

Every shopkeeper/seller tries to bring more and new items to his/her shop to find more customers and get more benefit but some people prefer to get less benefit.

 AEPO’s writer/producer had a trip to Badghis province and there he talked to a shopkeeper, Aminullah, a resident of Qala-e-Naw city, the capital of Badghis province.

Aminullah says: “at the beginning, I was working in a pistachio cleaning plant. One day my cousin told me that somebody sells his stationery shop and wants about 250 thousand Afghanis benefit. As I did not have money, I refused his suggestion. My cousin gave me the money by 50% benefit and I bought the shop 16 years before. As I import the goods to my shop from abroad, therefore I sell them cheaper than other shopkeepers and get less benefit. I paid the loan back to my cousin after a year and now I have hired a pupil in my shop too. I paid about 500 thousand Afghanis dowry to my father-in-law and arranged my wedding and I also bought a plot and built a house for me from the benefit of my shop.”
