A large number of factories have been set up and they are producing a variety of products. Most types of machinery and raw materials are exporting from abroad. Recently, some people are using their skills and abilities to build some machines inside the country.

AEPO’s writer/producer had a trip to Kandahar province and there he has talked to Sayed Sultan Shah, a resident of the first district, Kandahar city, who has created a plastic recycling machine.

Sayed Sultan Shah says: “I producing car's batteries during my immigration to one of our neighboring countries.  When I saw that workers were cleaning used plastics by hand and it was taking a long time, I decided to solve this problem.

I bought used iron and iron plates from the market and I processed them and finally, I succeeded to create my first recycling machine. Such machines are not manufacturing in our neighboring country and they if have them, they might have imported from abroad.

Before our workers were recycling plastic by hand and a group of four workers were refining 400 kgs plastic daily and we were paying 5 Afghanis wages per kg to each worker. Now the machine can recycle 8 tons of plastic daily.

The used plastics have 5 stages to be recycled and ready for making plastic materials and 100 workers are busy in work with us.
