Written by: mohammad Anwar Andar

First Lane:

Mukhtar and Zala are playing in the alley. Mukhtar draws a line and he says to Zala that he wants to dig a hole for playing glass marbles. Zala says that the line is not round.

Peddler arrives and they greet him. Peddler says that Mukhtar has drawn a circle. Mukhtar asks about the circle. Peddler turns on the taking box. A boy from Qarabagh district, Kabul province says: "all round objects are the examples of a circle like a bicycle wheel or the tire of a vehicle."

Shukrullah, another resident of Qarabagh district says that the dish-cover and cap are circles.

Peddler turns off the talking box and brings out a tambourine and a bangle from the bag and says that tambourine and the bangle are also circles.

Mukhtar and Zala also find some examples of the circles like coins and CDs.

Peddler tells them a poem about the circle as a gift and then he goes to the next alley.

Second Lane:

Peddler visits Zarifa and Ihsan in the alley in school uniform. They say to the peddler that they came from school.

Peddler says that he remembers a joke about school. Zarifa wants him to tell the joke.

Peddler tells the joke as follows:

A child went to school for the first time. when he went back home, his mother asked him that what he did learn in the school. the child said: “our teacher doesn’t know anything and he asked me several times that what does one plus one equal to?”

Children like the joke. Peddler asks them to share the joke with their friends and he goes to the lane of the story.

Third Lane:

Peddler enters the lane, Ihsan and Nazia greet him and ask him to tell the next part of the story, “Lie” to them.

Peddler asks them to repeat the previous part.

They say:

Red said to the crow that White is her close friend but he has backbitten her.

White said to Red that he also has the same objection and she did not wish to hear bad words against herself.

They started a quarrel. Crow prevented them and asked them that who has told them that you had backbitten against each other.

Red and White said that Black hen has told them.

The crow advised them to go together to Black and solve the problem in front of her.

Peddler says that both hens thanked crow and went their homes.

Part Four:

Black hen went to Piebald hen’s house and asked her that why she has backbitten her.

Piebald said that she had not told any bad words against her.

Black said that she has told to other hens that when black lays an egg, she becomes happy and dances, and now all are angry with me.

Piebald said to black that you are my close friend and I would never tell any bad words against you but Black did accept and went away.

End of part four.
