In the rural area of Afghanistan, there are no parks for rest and entertainment of the children, so that they play in the villages grounds or in the alleys. Sometimes children quarrel with each other and some parents interfere in such issues and this might create some problem for them.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some people about the causes and solution of this issue.

Assadullah, a resident of Kandahar province says: “A quarrel took place between two children on taking water from a handpump in our village. One child beat the other one. The father of the beaten child came and beat the other boy. A quarrel took place between two families. One person died and some other wounded in this quarrel. One of them is still in jail.”

Abdul Qayum, a resident of Farza district of Kabul province says: “I had a sports club in my village. one-day when I came back from my prayers, my nephew was crying and said that a boy has beaten him. When I asked the reason from the boy, the boy slapped me and I could not control myself and I broke his jaw and now I am in jail.”

Some people have found a solution to this problem.

Gharibullah, a resident of Farza district says: “one-day the son of our neighbor had beaten my small brother. I beat the boy. His father came and beat me and I threw a brick toward him. My father came and I thought that he would fight for me but my father beat me and asked excuse from the other man.”

Saida Gul says: “sometimes back, the son of our neighbor had broken my grandson's head. My sons wanted to take revenge on them. I told them that children always quarrel with each other and after sometimes they reconcile and it doesn’t worth to fight for a small issue. my sons accepted.”
