First Lane:

Waheeda is playing with her brother, Satar in the alley. Waheeda says to Satar that they are getting late to the school and the headmaster might punish them. Satar says that he knows only the teacher and has no information about headmaster.

Waheeda says that as he is new to the school, therefore he does not know about the headmaster.

Peddler comes and they greet him. Satar asks peddler about headmaster.

Peddler says about the responsibilities of a headmaster: “Headmaster controls teacher and students to come on time to school and leave on time too. headmaster checks the classes, if any teacher is absent, he/she would send another teacher to the class. He/she prepares the timetable for the classes and notices if the teacher has taught a new lesson or not. some schools have several headmasters and each headmaster is the employee of the government and gets a salary for his/her job.”

Waheeda and Satar learn about the responsibilities of the headmaster. Peddler gives them a watch as gift and he goes to another alley.

 Second Lane:

Rameen and Hadia are playing in the alley. Hadia has learnt a new joke and wants to tell it to the peddler.

Peddler arrives and after greeting, Hadia says the following joke:

One-day a mathematics teacher was absent in a class. The headmaster went to the class and asked a student: if we buy 200 Afghanis meat, 50Afghanis potatoes, and 20 Afghanis onion, what would be the result?

The student replied that we would get a bowl of delicious meat and potatoes soup.

Peddler likes the joke and asks the children to learn more jokes for next time and he goes to another alley.

Third Lane:

Majeed and Sajida are playing in the alley. Peddler comes and they great him. Majeed says that Sajida has learnt a poem about headmaster.

Peddler asks her to read her poetry. Sajida reads the poem. Peddler appreciates both of them by giving them a pen and goes his home.
