Human beings face many health problems. One of them is hand fracture.

A fracture might cause pain, stiffness, and loss of movement. Some fractures would cause an obvious deformity, such as a crooked finger.

Hand fracture has different causes: falling from a high place, an accident with a car, slipping on the ice or snow and some others.

The writer/producer AEPO has talked to some patients and a physician.

A mother from Laghman province says: my daughter wanted to bring some water from a hand-water-pump, she fell near the pump and broke her hand.

Basira, a resident of Maidan-Wardak Province says: my right hand broke during playing with my friend. When I reached home, the broken bone was turned into black and when doctor bound my hand, the bone welded crooked.

Doctor Abdul Rahman Ateed an orthopedist in Wazir Akbar Khan Hospital in Kabul city says:

The hand fracture usually has swelling and pain and the fractured bone might become black. If the fracture is deep, the fractured bone might cut some veins and it might cause bleeding and unconsciousness. If someone does not treat it on time, it might cause the death of the patient.

First Aids:

Ms. Lisa, a resident of Mazar-e-Sharif says:

My sister’s hand was broken. I slightly dressed her hand in a soft cloth and later they carried her to the hospital.

Doctor Zia Mohammad Ezidpanah, a physician in the first aids section of Wazir Akbar Khan hospital says:

When someone's wrist or elbow breaks and he/she is able to move it around, at the beginning, we should attach it to the patient’s chest and then we put a small pillow between the broken place and chest and bound it with a bandage or a soft and clean cloth and transfer him/her to the hospital.

First aids help the patient to get his/her life back and keep him from cutting hand or growing the damaged bone crooked.
