Bronchitis is a health problem in the respiratory system that affects aged people more than others in cold weather in Afghanistan.

The writer/producer AEPO has talked to some patients and a physician at Avicenna Chest Hospital.

A patient, Rahmatullah says: I could not breathe well and neither climb up.

Another patient says that when he went to public bath, he faced asthma bronchitis. A woman says that she was smoking hookah for 50 years and now she suffers from bronchitis.

Doctor Mohammad Hamid Shefayee says:

Bronchitis is a chronic respiratory lung illness. The bronchial tubes carry air into the lungs from the mouth and nose. When the lining of the bronchial tubes becomes swollen or inflamed, a condition called bronchitis develops. The main symptom of this disease is continuous cough, fever, body ache, redness of lips and fingers and if not treated, it might affect the heart and causes the patient’s death.

Treatment and prevention:

Abdul Rasul, a resident of Kabul city says: I had asthma bronchitis due to smoking and when I quit smoking, I got my health back.

Anisa a resident of Kabul province says: while I clean the rooms or yard, I use a mask and keep myself away from dust and smoke.

Doctor Shefayee confirms the above quotes and says that applying vaccine also helps to prevent asthma bronchitis.
