Kids Pneumonia

According to the information provided by the authorities of Indira Gandhi Child Health Care Hospital, Kabul city, about 60-70 kids, infected with pneumonia are transferred to this hospital for treatment every day.

Pneumonia is one of the fatal and dangerous diseases which could face kids with various health problems.

Writer/producer AEPO has talked to some patients’ mother and a physician in the above-mentioned hospital.

a mother says: My kid infected with the pneumonia virus. She has fever and cough. Her lips became brown and she is vomiting too.

Doctor Mohammad Arif Hasanzai, a professor of pediatric diseases says: Pneumonia is a microbial and harmful disease and its symptoms are severe fever, chest pain, coughing and problem in breathing, if not treated on time, the body's vital organs: heart, kidneys, and brain would not work properly and could be caused serious problems including the patient death.

Another mother says that she gives her kids liquids, chicken-soup, milk, lukewarm tea and medicines according to the physician’s prescription. In winter, she keeps her kids warm; lets the sun-rays come to the living room; refreshes the room's air and keeps her kids and their dishes clean.
