Child Labor

 Written by: Muzamil Shah Watandost

The term child labor is often defined as work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential, and their dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development. It refers to work that is mentally, physically, socially, or morally dangerous and harmful to children.

The second article of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child stated that people under the age of eighteen are called children. In the sixth article of the same convention, we read that governments must guarantee the life, survival, and development of children.

Afghanistan is also one of the member countries of this convention, but people in different regions of this country force children to work beyond their ability, which can cause children to face various problems.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some people about this issue.
