Expenses After Hajj:

 written by: Naqib Ahmad Azizi

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Hajj and Islamic Affairs of Afghanistan, approximately 30,000 people have gone to Saudi Arabia for Hajj this year from all over the country.

After returning from the Hajj, most of the Pilgrims offer some gifts as praying carpets, watches, rosary beads and invite their friends, relatives, and villagers for a feast. Their relatives and friends also decorate cars to welcome the Pilgrims. these things cause them to face some economic problem.

Regarding this issue, writer/producer AEPO has talked to some people

Nik Mohammad from Shakardara, district of Kabul province says:

My uncle came from Hajj. Their family invited many people for a lunch and my uncle had brought different gifts for guests.

Yasinullah shared his view on face book: some people prefer tradition to Sharia and some others have the money to go to Hajj but as they are not able to pay extra expenses, they give up Hajj.

Wazir Mohammad Saeedi, professor of Sharia in one of the private universities in Kabul, says: extra expenses are prohibited in Islam and Allah does not love squanderers.

Some people have found a solution for this problem.

Gulajan, another resident of Shakardara says: we formed a council of elders and clergies of the village. They banned extra expenses after Hajj. Now when Haji comes from Pilgrim, they distribute only dates and Zamzam water.
