Written by: Mohammad Arif Rahimi

Epilepsy is a neurological disease. There are many reasons.

Like the lack of oxygen to the brain during the birth of a child or nerve damage, Inflammation or germs in the brain, brain cancers, blockage of blood vessels in the brain, persistent high fever in childhood, etc.

Epilepsy has no cure. But it can be controlled with medication. But if epilepsy patients don't take regular medicine according to doctor's instructions it can cause health problems.

Regarding this, Faisal Wardag from Kabul says: One of our relatives had epilepsy. When he did not take medicines he had a stroke and passed away.

Mohammad Arif Wardag: It's been a few years. I have epilepsy. If I stopped taking the medicine, I would have attacks every day.

I feel like dying during the attack.

Dr. Nik Mohammad Wahidi, a specialist in mental and neurological diseases in Kabul city, has a unique opinion:

if these patients do not pay attention to the dosage of medicine. The disease is not under control.

Their problems are increasing. Sometimes they are good.  Another attack is coming. If he hits his head during the attack, he may bleed.

If near fire or water or on a high place or roof, there is a risk of drowning, personal injury and death.

A number of people have different opinions about the main causes of epilepsy being controlled by not taking medication regularly.

According to the doctor, this is caused by not taking epilepsy medicine regularly and cutting it off by oneself.

That then affects the medicine, because the disease is not controlled.

A number of epilepsy patients who had taken regular medicine at a certain time and amount according to the instructions of the doctors their disease were controlled.

Mohammad Arif Wardag says: I went to the doctor two and a half months ago he gave me medicine.

I eat two types medicine in the breakfast and lunch at my own time and amount. I sleep well at night and wherever I go I take my medicines.

For two months the attack did not come.

Muhammad Wasil Wardag: Muhammad Arif is my aunt's son and neighbor. I see his medicine every day.

Did he eat on time or not? He still has a few days of medicine left. I tell him. Let's go to the doctor.

From which he paid attention to the dosage of medicine. It made a good impression. Attacks and difficulties are reduced.
