All people want to strengthen their family economy so that they do not depend on others, but getting a job is a difficult task. Some family problems such as rent, house expenses, and illness force people to find solutions to these problems.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to Farhad, a resident of Kabul city.

Farhad says about his business, “My family has 10 members and none of them are employed and I was also unemployed.

A friend of mine offered me a job at a poultry meat processing company, and after the formalities, I started working as a mobile salesman of chicken meat packaging. I sell the packages of chicken meat from a Zarang Motorcycle in different parts of Kabul city.

The price of each pack of chicken meat is about 300 Afghanis in the market but I sell it for 220 Afghanis. Our company has chicken farms in Jalalabad city, Nangarhar province and they process and package and then we sell them in Kabul city. My monthly income reaches about 12000 Afghanis.”

Muhammad Agha says, “My father had a greenhouse and I was unemployed. I decided to learn this profession from him and about 18 years ago, together with my two brothers, I started growing and selling flowers and flower seeds.

We have greenhouses in Kabul city, Mirbachakut district of Kabul province, and Parwan province. We have about 100 different types of flowers. We earn 50 to 100 Afghanis per flower plant and our monthly income reaches 20-30 thousand Afghanis.”
