Women's activities are praiseworthy in all fields of life, and if women are deprived of work and activity in society, its negative effects will affect not only women but all members of society.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some people about the women's work right out of the home.

A girl who doesn’t want to mention her name in the program says, “I have passed high school but the custom of our society doesn’t let me work outside the home. Now I am facing more economic problems.”

Ashiqullah, a resident of Qarabagh district, Kabul province says, “There were many female teachers in our area and even some female teachers were coming from Kabul city and they were teaching girls at school. Now but now there is no teacher to teach our daughters, and our families no longer allow female teachers to work outside the home, and this issue harms female students."

"I was a teacher and when I got married my father-in-law's family prevented me from going to work and now we are facing financial problems.”

What do some people think about the cause of preventing women from working outside the home?

Ms. Danish says, “My husband's brothers did not let me go to work and said that the villagers did not like women working outside the home.”
Khatera, a resident of Qarabagh district says, “I am a teacher, but I cannot go out of home for work because I am afraid that people will say something bad against our family reputation.”

How do some people solve this problem?

Ms. Danish says, “I found a job for one of my husband's brothers. I asked him to follow me when I go out to work. He attended several seminars with me. When he saw that there was no problem, he let me work outside the home.”

Haseena Kakar from Qarabagh district says, “My uncles were against my work outside the home, saying that the security situation is not good where I wanted to go to teach. My father convinced him and  he allowed me to work."

Maulavi Naqeeb Ulfat says, “Islam does not prevent women from working outside the home. Women can work outside the home like men, but in Islamic conditions, they consider their family as their chastity and dignity, and in the first place, they are responsible for the family and raising their children. Be aware and mentions a few cases of women's work in early Islam."
