Schools are the only place where children are educated, that is why the expenses of students and schools are funded by the government in most countries.

Despite the efforts of the government and parents to make the next generation literate, some climate issues, and the spreading of contagious diseases, cause children to stay away from school for a while and these issues harm their lessons.

In Afghanistan, the outbreak of the coronavirus and some political changes caused a delay in education and the government announced a one-year promotion for 7th-12th grade school girls. Some students and their parents worry about this issue.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some people about this issue.

A student, Palwasha says, “I studied my school lessons days and night I studied day and night, but a student who had not studied got a higher score than me because they have given marks based on the marks of the previous exams and I suffer a lot.”

Kulsoom says, “All school lessons are in the form of a chain and this kind of promotion would face us problems next year with school lessons.”

What do some people think about the challenges that prevent girls from learning school lessons in winter?

Suraya, a resident of Kabul province says, “There is no education course in our residential area and on the other hand, female teachers do not teach in such courses and my father is not able to pay the fee for the course.”

Adila, a resident of Kabul city says, “We cab learn better in the classroom, but no matter how hard we try at home, it still does not remain in our brain as much as in the school and in the classroom. We are for students in our classroom, if each student asks a single question and the teacher replies to them, we will learn answers for 40 questions.”

How can families and girls provide an educational environment for themselves?

Palwasha says, “I study online my school lesson at home. My mother and my big brother help me in school lessons. My older sister also helps me if I want.”
Arizo says, “My father has hired a home teacher for us and she helps us with school lessons.”

Shakila says, “We are two sisters in the same classroom. We help each other in school lessons at home.”
