Covid-19 is a deadly disease but could be prevented and treated by vaccination.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some people and a physician about the risks of not taking Covid-19 vaccines.

Alaf Shah, a resident of Parwan province says, “I have not applied Covid-19 vaccines and due to that, I infected with the coronavirus. I was suffering from severe fever and shortness of breath. I borrowed about 300 thousand Afghanis from my relatives for the treatment and now I am recovered from this disease but, I became so weak that I could not walk and work.”

Shahla Wardak says, “We have not taken Covid-19 vaccines. My sister was infected with coronavirus first, and she transferred this virus to me and my whole family. My father was more suffering from shortness of breath, and finally, he died of it.”

Doctor Faridullah Omari, a physician at the Contagious Diseases Hospital, in Kabul city says, “Those who have not applied covid-19 vaccine, they might infect with coronavirus and suffer more from coughing, shortness of breath, body aches and might die from this disease. He/she transmit this virus to the other members of his/her family, friends, and relatives.”

Why do some people not apply the Covid-19 vaccine?

Nimatullah, a resident of Ghazni province says, “We live in a village, and Covid-19 vaccines are not available there in our area, and we have not taken them yet.”

Shahla says, “Some people think that the Covid-19 vaccine causes blood clotting and they do not apply it.”

Doctor Omari says, “Covid-19 vaccines are safe and people must take them otherwise, they might face many health problems.”

What do people think about the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine?

Wahidullah Sediqi, a resident of Kabul city says, “I am a health team worker. I and all of the members of my family have taken Covid-19 vaccines and we have not been infected with coronavirus yet.”

Rahmatullah Wardak says, “We are not able to get Covid-19 vaccine because these vaccines are not found in clinics. I and, my family always use facemasks and wash hands with soap; we avoid going to a crowd and we are not infected with coronavirus yet.”

Doctor Omari talks about this issue, “Almost all types of Covid-19 vaccines are applying two doses. The gap between the first and second dose should be one month. Some people might suffer from body aches, and slight fever but they are not severe after taking these vaccines but, these vaccines prevent people from coronavirus and, if someone infects with this virus, he/she might suffer less from this disease”
