Rickets

According to the information, provided by the doctors of Indra Gandhi Child Health Hospital in Kabul, about 4-5 kids of rickets disease are brought to this hospital every month.

Rickets is a disease of children caused by vitamin D deficiency, characterized by imperfect calcification, softening, and distortion of the bones typically resulting in knees.

Doctor Ahmad Khalid, a pediatrician in Indira Gandhi Child Health hospital says to the writer/producer AEPO:

The most important symptoms of rickets include drowsiness, muscle weakness, growth retardation, parietal wrists, and wrists. In severe cases, the shape of the baby's chest may change.

Treatment of this disease is possible by prescribing of calcium and vitamin D. It usually takes several months to reach the normal state. Many organ deformities, would be cured themselves.

Prevention of Rickets:

Breastfeeding up to two years; placing kids into direct rays of the sun for 10-15 minutes a day; eating fresh fruits; fish; dairies and eggs are the best ways to prevent children rickets.
