Most Afghan families take their children to weddings but some naughty children cause some problems for others.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some people about this issue.

Ikramullah, a resident of Nangarhar province says, “Once, in my friend's wedding, some naughty children broke the glasses and ceiling fan of the hotel. When they went to the bride's house, they stole some cups from the bride’s house.”

Nasiruddin, a resident of Logar province says, “There was my nephew’s wedding ceremony and many children had come. The children were very naughty. They fell the tables and chairs at the hotel. They caused the waiter to drop the food’s tray on the ground.”

What do people think about the causes of this issue?

A woman from Logar province says, “The main cause of this mischievousness is the recklessness of the parents. They do not care what their children do.”

A woman from Maidan-Wardak province says, “When many children come together, they start playing and mischief and the responsible person of the wedding party does not prevent t them because he thinks that their parents might be annoyed.”

How do people find a solution to this issue?

Suhaila, a resident of Laghman province says, “When I participate at a wedding, I talk to my children in advance that if they mischief in the hotel, I would not take them with me and when I go to the hotel, I take care of them and want them to be seated beside me.”

Zainullah, a resident of Jalalabad city, Nangarhar province says, “We cannot say to our relatives and friends to not to take their children to the wedding instead we assign someone from our home to control children.”
