Goiter Illness

Human body consists of different glands and each gland has its specific task. One of these glands is thyroid. Thyroid gland could be affected by different causes.

A specialist of internal medicine in one of the hospitals in Kabul city says to the writer/producer of AEPO:

  sweating, anger, constipation, diarrhea, irregular menstruation in women and weight loss are the symptoms of high thyroid’s hormones.

Overweight, weariness and insomnia, hatred of daily works and constipation are the symptoms of low portion of thyroid’s hormones.

Raqima is a patient, who suffers from goiter. She says that she has asthma and could not breath well, has high concentrations in the blood and high blood pressure.

Physicians say if people do not take vegetables and foods contain zinc, iodine and sodium, would face goiter.

At the beginning of the illness, it could be cured by medicine but if develops, it would need surgery.
