Study All the Day

It is hard for some children and juveniles to study their school lessons all the time because they they could not find enough time for playing and some of them prefer playing than studying.

It is the job of the parents to encourage them to study school lessons too but some parents want their children to study their school lessons the whole day and they do not want to see their children without a book, notebook, and a pen even for a moment. This behavior of the parents causes some problems for their children. AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to school students and a psychiatrist.

Zahra says, “My father had been forcing me to study my school lessons all the time. This behavior of him caused me some psychological problems and they registered me in a hospital for treatment and I was talking in sleep.”

Abdul Satar Muhammadi, a resident of Herat province says, “One of our neighbors was forcing his son to study school lessons all the time but the boy did not like that suggestion he left the school and now he is addicted to the drug.”

A psychologist, Professor Karima Dariz says, “Forcing children and adolescents to study hard all the time, creates some problems for them. For example, students have to memorize their school lessons instead of learning them and after a short time, they might forget what they have learned. This issue causes them to waste their time and grow with anxiety and might not have convenient physical development.”

What do people think about the causes of this issue?

Somiya says, “My parents are intellectuals and they know that if their daughter or son does not study, she/he might lose her/his interest in the study and they might face some problems in the future.”

Zahra says, “My father wanted me to study hard for getting excellent marks in the exam.”

Karima Dariz says, “: illiterate parents encourage their children more to study because they think that if they do not study hard, they might face the same problems as they are and this is due to the lack of parental awareness on how to encourage their children to study school lessons.”

How do people find solutions to this issue?

Hela Ahmadi, a resident of Parwan province says, “I am a student and I go two times to an educational course after school and when I come back home from the course, I study my school and course lessons and I don’t feel any pressure.”

Samiya says, “Once I felt the pressure of more study and my parents suggested me to reduce my study. As I could not leave the school, I preferred to leave educational courses.”
