first Lane

Jalal is playing with his sister, Tahira in the lane. Peddler arrives and they warmly welcome him. Jalal has a bunch of flowers and he presents one flower to the peddler.

Peddler asks about the flowers. Jalal says that he has cut them from his schoolyard. Tahira says that she always prevents him but he doesn’t accept. Tahira adds that she takes care of flowers and trees of her home yard too because they would get the benefit of them but Jalal doesn’t accept.

Peddler brings out the magic mirror from his bag and shows them a dusty school that has no tree and flowers and students are playing in the dust. Then he turns on the other side of the mirror. Jalal and Tahira see a green school and many students are sitting and playing under trees and near flowers. Peddler puts the mirror back in the bag.

Jalal regrets why he was cutting flowers from his school and he promises that he would take care of flowers and trees afterward. Meanwhile, Jalal and Tahira hear a voice from inside the bag that is singing a melody about flowers. They ask the peddler who is telling the melody. Peddler brings out a magic sapling from the bag.

Children want the sapling to repeat the melody again. Sapling repeat it and they learned the melody and when peddler wants to go to the next lane,  he sees that Naseema is running toward them and she wants the peddler to wait for her. When she arrives she tells the following joke: “A teacher asked the student to make a sentence for Frishta. A student, Nadia told this sentence: My sister had gone to the bazaar yesterday.

The teacher asked where is the name of Frishta in the sentence. Nadia replied that her sister's name is Frishta.

Peddler likes the joke and he goes to the lane of the story.
