Stomach Inflammation

Stomach inflammation is the irritation of the superficial ulceration of the gastric wall. AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some patients and a physician about this disease.

Ahmad, a resident of Faryab province says, “I have a stomach ache. I am suffering from headache, vomiting and I could not eat sufficient food. Sometimes I vomit blood too.”

Fatima, a resident of Dashtibarchi, district 5, Kabul city says, “When I eat or do not eat food, I suffer from stomach ache. The physician could not diagnose my disease.”

Doctor Daud Pakteen, an internist at Jamhoriat Hospital, Kabul city says, “Symptoms of stomach inflammation are vomiting or discomfort, bloating or abdominal pain, indigestion, gastritis, and anorexia. If not treated on time, the inflammation of the stomach might become chronic, the urinary tract causing serious problems such as ulcers in the digestive tract and even stomach cancer.”

What do people think about the causes of stomach inflammation?”

Fawad, a resident of Shakardara district, Kabul city says, “I heard from people that contaminated vegetable and contaminated foods might cause stomach inflammation.”

Doctor Pakteen says, “Taking pain relief medicines, drinking more carbonated drinks, smoking tobacco, eating fried and spicy foods and pickle and eating more sweets, drinking contaminated water and contaminated vegetables cause gastritis and then the patient would suffer from stomach inflammation.”

How do people treat this disease at home?

Madina, a resident of Kapisa province says, “I am suffering from stomach inflammation. I avoid fried and spicy foods and pickle and I prefer to eat soft foods and vegetable soup.”

Madina says, “I try to eat soft foods and avoid fried and spicy foods and raw vegetables and take some home medicines like carom seeds, aniseeds, and fleawort.”

Somia, a resident of Chaharasiab district, Kabul province says, “I am suffering from stomach inflammation and I never eat fried foods, beans and beef and I regularly go to the doctor for treatment and now I feel better.”

DoctorPakteen says, “Avoiding fried and spicy foods, sweets and taking aniseeds, fleawort and carom seeds reduce the pain but the patients have to go to a doctor for essential treatment.”
