Primary Classes and Homework Assignments

Children often need parental care especially during the education of elementary classes. AEPO’s writer/producer has only discussed the importance of helping in homework assignments with elementary schools’ students.

Ameer Khan, a resident of Sayad village, Bagram district, Parwan province says: “I left school after the completion of 2 years because there was no one at my family to help me in school lessons and homework.”

Ikramullah, a student, a resident of Parwan province says: “I have problems in my school lessons. My family all member are illiterate. Sometimes I ask my friends to help me.”

What do people think about the causes of this issue?

Muhammad Raheem, a resident of Ghazni province says: “my two sons are studying school but we did not help them in school lessons yet because my wife is illiterate and I have a job and when I come back home, I could not help my children.”

Essa Khan says: “I have three sons and my brother has 9 sons they are in school. As we are not literate, we could not help them in school lessons.”

A teacher, Sadiqa says: “some families think that their children should learn everything in school and they do not need extra assistance. Some students have told me that no one in their families even knows that in which class they are in.”

How could family help primary schools children?

A woman, a resident of Konar province says: “my 2 daughters are going to school in the afternoon. I have hired a home teacher for them. When they come back from school, the teacher helps them in their school lessons and they get excellent numbers in the exams.”

Bibi Khadija, a seventh-grade student, a resident of Behsod district, Nangarhar province says: “when I was in primary school, I was studying my school lessons myself and then my father was helping me in my school lessons. When I was succeeding in the exams, he was encouraging me by giving gifts.”
