First Lane:

Haroon is playing on a carousel horse on the ground of the village. His sister, Marwa informs him from the coming of the peddler. They both go toward peddler and welcome him. Marwa asks him about their gifts. Peddler says that if anyone shows his/her skill, he would give the gift to him/her.

Haroon and Marwa tell a poem about Carousel horse. Peddler likes it and gives a wooden horse to each of them and he goes to the next lane.

Second Lane:

Parwana and Bashir want to play in the lane but they do not know what to play. Meanwhile, the peddler arrives and they welcome him. The peddler asks about their business. Basheer says that do not remember any game to play.

Peddler turns on the talking box. A boy, Husain, a resident of Bamiyan province explain the game of thief and police. He says: “some children come together and they divide into two groups, the first group is thieves and the second group is police. The thieves steal something and run away. The police make an alarm sound and they try to capture the thieves. When the police capture them, the game comes to its end and the children repeat it again.”

Parwana and Bashir play the game. Peddler likes the game and give them a plastic whistle to them and asks to play the game with their other friends. The peddler wants to go to the next lane but Parwana wants him to listen to a joke.

Parwana says: “a teacher asks a naughty student to name five beasts. The boy says three lions and two tigers.”

Peddler likes the joke and he asks the children to learn more jokes for next time and he goes to the other Lane.

Third Lane:

It’s raining and lightning. Ahmad asks his sister, Laila that why the winter lasts for a long time. Laila says that the winter has passed and it’s spring now but Ahmad does not accept. Peddler comes with his rabbit and children welcome him.

Peddler asks about their argument. Laila says that it’s spring but Ahmad does not accept. Peddler confirms Laila’s saying and says that it’s spring. Ahmad asks why does it rain then.

Rabbit says that the rain grows flowers and grass.

Peddler asks if they know that the spring is which season of the year. Ahmad replies the second season; the first one is winter and the second  is spring.

Peddler says no and adds that the spring is the first season of the year.

Laila asks that for how many months the spring lasts. The rabbit says for three months. Ahmad asks how. Peddler says that one year has four seasons: spring, summer, fall and winter and each season has three months.

Ahmad asks that which season would be after spring. The peddler says that he would tell about it some other day.
