Sometimes some people suffer from nasal septum deviation.

A mother, Naima, a resident of Logar province says: “my son’s nose is tilted and he is suffering from nose ache, nose swelling, nose bleeding, and nasal discharge and snoring in sleep.”

Doctor Muhammad Sharif Sailani an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist at Indira Gandhi children’s hospital, Kabul city says: “When the nose tilts, it could not perform its tasks properly. The common symptoms and signs of nasal septum deviation are the congestion of one or both sides of the nose, along with the difficulties in breathing and snoring in the sleep. The nasal septum deviation might also cause chronic sinuses, severe respiratory problems, sleep disorder, nose bleeding, infections, and headache, dry mouth, the pressure in the nasal passage might cause the nasal discharge to come out of the eye and causes other problems.

What do people think about the nasal septum deviation?

A mother says that her child had fallen on the ground and his nose bone was broken and now he is suffering from nasal septum deviation.

Firdaus, a resident of Qarabagh district, Kabul province says: “I was playing cricket with my friends. I broke my nose bone by the bat and now I am suffering from nasal septum deviation.”

Doctor Sailani says: “nasal septum deviation has two main causes: deviated septum is associated with genetic connective tissue disorders and the other one is the blow by face or nose which injures the nose bone.”

Does nasal septum deviation has home treatment?

Hasay, a resident of Maidan-Wardak province says: “I used some sprays at home but those treatments did not help me. Later I went to the hospital and they treated me by surgical operation.”

Some other patients have the same opinions.

Doctor Sailani says: “when parents consider that their children are suffering from nasal septum deviation, they should not treat them at home because the home treatment might cause the accumulation of blood in the nose. The parents are strongly recommended to take their children to a physician or a hospital for essential treatment. This disease might be treated by medicines or surgical operation. The patient should be kept away from very hot or cold weather and they should take care of the wound.”
