What is the School?

 

First Lane:

Sameera is happy and says to her cousin, Nasir that her father is going to enroll her in a school and asks if Nasir wants to go to school too.
Nasir doesn’t like school and says to Samira that there is a dark underground in the school and they keep lazy students in that dark room. Sameera doesn’t accept. Nasir says that if someone goes late to school, the servant of the school hit her/him by a stick. Samira rejects going to school.

peddler arrives and they greet him. Sameera shares the school’s problems with the peddler. Peddler turns on a tape recorder.

Metra says: school is the place for learning. Students could find good friends for them.

Mustafa says that he learns reading and writing in the school and students have leisure time for playing too.
Sameera wants Nasir to go with her to enroll themselves in the school.

peddler says that children should go for enrollment with their elders. After enrollment, the school’s administration would give books to the children. Sameera and Nasir want to go home and ask their parent to enroll them in the school. Peddler gives to each of them a school bag and then he goes to another alley.

Second Lane:

Aziza and Farid are playing in the alley. Peddler comes and after greeting, Aziza asks for their gifts. Peddler says that if they hear him a melody, he would give them a nice gift.

Aziza reads a poem about school. Peddler likes it and asks them to share the poem with their other friends too and gives them a dozen of crayons and he goes to the next alley.
 
The Story Lane:

Marwa and Yaqoob are repeating the previous episode of the story” The Letter”. Peddler arrives and asks them to tell him the previous episode.
Marwa says that Malalai was crying and asking her mother to get the allowance of her father to let her to continue her school. When Malalai’s mother shares the issue with Malalai’s father. Malalai’s father becomes angry and doesn’t allow her.
Peddler starts the third episode of the story as follow:

The Letter: Third Episode
On one snowy day, Malalai’s father comes home and asks Malalai’s mother to make ready his and Tooryalai’s clothes. Malalai’s mother asks the reason. Malalai’s father says that his sister is sick and he wants to visit her. He adds that her house is in a remote village and he wants to take Tooryalai with him too. When they reach to a desert, Malalai’s father's foot slips into a canal and he breaks his leg. No one is there to help him.
Tooryalai decides to find someone to help his father.
End of the third episode.
