The Voice of “D”

First Lane:

Shakira and Dawood are sitting in the sun in the alley and are doing their homework. Peddler arrives and they greet him.

Peddler asks them about their work. Shakira says that they are studying in Madrasa and Mullah has given them an assignment. Peddler asks about the type of the assignment. Shakira says that Mullah has asked them to find some names started with the letter “D”. Dawood says that we have found a few names started with “D” and we could not find more words and names.

Peddler turns on a tape recorder. Some children repeat some names started with “D”. Shakira and Dawood also find some names started with “D”.

Dawood tells a joke related to the “D”. Peddler asks them to find some new jokes and he goes to the other alley.

2nd Lane:

Ajmal and Razia are waiting for Peddler to come and tell them a new story. Meanwhile, the peddler comes and the children greet him. Razia wants him to tell them a new story.

First Episode:

Once upon a time, there was a family living in a green village far from the city. This family had two children, Malalai and Toryalai. Toryalai was studying in the school and Malalai was at home but she was eager to go to school too.

One-day Toryalai came home from school and saw that Malalai is crying. Malalai wanted his brother to get permission from her father to go to school.

Toryalai said that if my father allows you, I would not allow you to go to school because the other boys would mock me.

Malalai said that she would ask her mother to share the issue with her father.
