Water Breaking Before Labor

While a baby is in the womb, it is situated within the amniotic sac, a bag formed of two membranes, the amnion, and the chorion. The fetus grows and develops inside this sac, surrounded by amniotic fluid.

The job of this sac includes protecting the fetus from physical injuries, dealing with pathogenic agents, and providing part of its nutritional needs; but sometimes this sac ruptures prematurely due to various reasons and causes various health problems to the mother and her fetus.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some mothers and a gynecologist about this issue.
