Diarrhea is a disease that increases in summer season. According to the information, provided by the head of Indira Gandhi children health Care hospital in Kabul city, about twenty children are brought to this hospital for treatment daily.

What is child diarrhea; what are the symptoms of it and how should be cured?

The writer/producer AEPO has talked to some mothers and a physician at the above-mentioned hospital.

Arizo, a mother from Kapisa province says: my child has diarrhea and vomiting. He also suffers from fever and became very weak.

Doctor Noorulhaq, a pediatrician at Indira Gandhi Child Health Care Hospital says:  lethargy, asthenia, fever, vomiting, and dehydration along with loose or watery stools are the symptoms of diarrhea in children. When a child goes more than three times to toilet and has a loose stool, he might be faced with diarrhea.

Some parents think that appearing of new teeth in children causes diarrhea. Doctor Noorulhaq says that some bacteria and viruses cause diarrhea. Paying no attention to the cleanliness of the child and mother might cause diarrhea. The mother should wash her nipples before feeding her child and also wash her baby hands.

Medication:

Those, who are away from a doctor or health clinic, they could mix one teaspoon salt with three teaspoons of sugar in four glasses of pre-boiled water and give it gradually to the kid. One solution could be used only for 24 hours and after that, they should make a new solution and carry the child as soon as possible to a clinic or a doctor for essential treatment. Liquids and vegetable and rice soup are useful for diarrhea.
