Fat Monkey

 Written by: Abdullah Fazli

Once upon a time, there were two monkeys, khaki, and fat living beside other animals in a jungle. One winter day, they felt very cold. The fat monkey was feeling pain in his fingers because his two fingers were cut. The weather was very cold and they were trying to find a warm place for themselves.

The fat monkey was crying and said to Khaki that he would die of his fingers pain and this cold weather. Fat assured him that he would find a warm place. Meanwhile, they saw a cloud of smoke on the other side of the jungle and both went near it.

When they reached there, they saw that a black monkey was warming himself with fire.

Fat wanted the black monkey to let them sit near the fire but the black monkey did not allow them and he thought that if they warm themselves with fire, the heat of the fire would reduce.

The fat monkey asked about the fire. Black monkey replied that a man had made the fire and he had gone.

The fat wanted the black to let them warm themselves otherwise the Khaki may die of his fingers' pain.

The black monkey said that if they bring some firewood, he would let them warm themselves but the fat said that how could they find firewood on this snowy day.

Black monkey got angry and he did not allow them to sit near the fire and he went to find some firewood.

When the black monkey came back, he saw that the fat monkey was laying down on the ground. Black asked Khaki about him. Khaki cried and said that the fat died of the cold weather. When the black monkey visited the fat, he said that Fat is alive.

Black monkey asked about the cause of cutting Fat’s fingers.  Khaki replied that one day, the Fat had found an ax and when he wanted to cut a branch from a tree, he cut his two fingers. Fat regained his consciousness and promised that he would never play with sharp things afterward.
