Work Facilities for women in rural areas

Some women in rural areas of Afghanistan want to have a decisive role in the family economy, but they need the help of their husbands or men.

The writer/producer of AEPO has talked to some of the people in deferent villages of Parwan province.

A woman says:  We have a poultry farm. At the beginning, we had 300 hens and we could collect about 170 -200 eggs per day, but now we have 100 hens and we collect about 30-40 eggs every day. The price of one egg in the winter reaches up to Afs. 10 but in the summer, it reduces to Afs. 8. My husband helps me in feeding hens.

We feed hens three times a day:  first time at 8 am, the second time at 3 pm and last time at 9 pm.

We gained Afs. 40000 from the production of hens and bought a cow and also treated my sick daughter.

Gul Muhra, another woman says: We had three jeribs(in Afghanistan, one jerib is equivalent to 2000 square meters)  land before and got about 6 bags of wheat per year. The half of that wheat belonged to the farmer. We faced many economic problems and had to sell the land. Later, we bought five jerib land. I weed the field and my husband sold the productions in the market and solve our economy problem.
