According to the information provided by Bakhtar News Agency, about 228908 students had taken part in the university entry exam in the 1398 solar year. About 91 thousand of them had gotten no results. One reason for this failure is not choosing the field of study according to their ability.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some people about the causes of girls' failure in the university entry exam.

Khalida, a resident of Ghazni province says, “I had studied hard for university entry exam. Last year I took the university entry exam and I had chosen the faculty of pharmacy. That faculty needed more scores but I could not get the required scores and I failed in the exam.”

Wahida, a resident of Kabul city says, “Last year I took university entry exam. I had paid for learning in learning courses for the exam but I failed and I became very disappointed.”

A pedagogue professor Zainulah Salihi talks about the consequences of choosing the study field, “If girls do not choose their study field according to their ability in the university entry exam and if they succeeded to the desirable fields too, they would not be able to proceed the field successfully. If the pass the field, they might face many problems in the future.”

What do girls think about choosing the study field?

Muska, a resident of Kunar province says, “Most girls could not decide about the choice of their study field. Their families force them to select a faculty that they want. This issue causes them to fail in the exam.”

A woman, a resident of Kabul city says, “The first reason is that the girls’ families. They force girls to select study field according to their family wish and the second reason is competition among students in the class. If a girl wants to select the faculty of medicines as her first choice, her close friend would also select the same faculty and that might cause her failure in the exam.”

How do girls find a solution to this problem?

Khadija, a resident of Maidan-Wardak province says, “I consulted my friends who had passed the university entry exam successfully. I also asked about the score of each faculty. They suggested to me the faculty of psychology and told me that if I graduate that faculty, I could find a job easily and I did the same and succeeded to the mentioned faculty and now I am studying my lessons eagerly.”

Shahperai, a teacher in one of Kabul city schools says, “When I took the university entry exam, I solved the given questions and then I calculated the scores. As my favorite field is science, I selected that faculty and succeeded in it.”
