There are many craftsmen around the country working hard to get a good benefit. Some of them sell their products at a high price, and some sell them at a lower price than others but they get more profit.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to Rahmatullah, a resident of Kunduz province.

Rahmatullah talks about his business, “I had a restaurant in Kunduz province and when I came to Kabul, I started to sell chicken tikka on a kart to move from one place to another. I start my work at 8 am and after 3 pm, I preparing chickens breast meat from the bazaar and then I slice it into small pieces and I soak them in a marinate containing vinegar and garlic for a night. I buy 1 kilograms chicken’s breast for 200 Afghanis and I prepare about 6 dishes of chicken tikka from 1 kilogram chicken breast and I sell one dish for 50 Afghanis. I can sell about 250-300 dishes chicken tikka daily. My most customers are passerby, craftsmen, drivers, and families.”

Second Job:

Some people are busy in a second job during their free time. AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to a gardener, Hassan, a resident of Kabul province.

Hassan says, “I have about 10 acres land and I am busy about 4 hours in my garden daily. To not to waste my time, I bought an incubator for 1000 eggs. For the first time, it hatched 30 eggs from 1000 eggs and then I talked to a poultry company and they guided me some points and for the second time, I get 900 chickens from 1000 eggs. Now I have 1000 chickens and after two months, they would start laying eggs. I have hired a worker to help me with this issue. I get 300 eggs daily and sell them in the market.”
