Some families have convenient monthly incomes but at the month, they have to borrow money from others. The reason for this problem is the lack of regular saving and expenses plan but AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to a teacher, Sahar in Qarabagh district, Kabul province who has a regular plan for her house expenses.

Sahar says: “I have six children and my husband is a wage laborer and he has given me the responsibility of house expenses. I have learned in a workshop that we should have a plan for our incomes and expenses.

I prepared daily, weekly and monthly plans. I have enrolled my 4 children in a private school and my husband pays for their fees. I have bought a plot for 220 thousand Afghanis from my saving money and we have built a house on it in 5 years.”

The Story of Husna:

Husna is a girl living in Qarabagh district, Kabul province.

She tells about her life to AEPO’s writer/producer: “My father is a peasant and we are faced with economic problems. My mother is sick and my brother is a school student.

When my brother was asking my mother for money, she did not have money to give him and this situation was annoying me. I wanted to solve at least my brother’s problem.

When I was finding a small and useless cloth, I was cutting and making a small dress from it. My aunt is a tailor and she was helping how to sew dress.

When I learned sewing clothes, I sewed a shirt to my mother and I presented to her as a mother’s day gift. Now I can sew 3 pairs of ladies suits monthly and the money I get from the sewing, I help my brother to prepare his school equipment and I pay for my mother’s medicines.”
