The Mouse’s Friend

 Written by: Nasratullah Samim

There were two mice, Tatoo, and Krapily living in the hay stock of a house. One day, Tatoo and Krapily were playing in the stock. Tatoo climbed on the haystack and asked Krapily to climb on the haystack too. When Krapily climbed, Tatto caught from her tail and dropped her down. Krapily became angry at him. Tatoo came down and said sorry for her mistake. Meanwhile, a cat entered into the stock and attacked the mice. Tatoo and Krapily were very afraid and ran into their house. They were hidden in their house till the afternoon. Tatto became tired and went off her house and she saw two white mice in the stock. Tatoo welcome them and asked that where were they come from. The mice told that they have come from the neighboring house and they liked the hay stock. Tatto became happy for finding new friends.

Krapily called Tatoo to play with her but Tatoo denied and said that she has found new friends and added that she would not play anymore with Krapily. Krapily became sad.

Tatoo took her new friends to the garden. The new mice met some other mice and asked about them from Tatoo. Tatoo said that they are her neighbors, but she doesn’t want to play with them. Tatoo cut the relation with all her neighbors.

Time was passing, Tatoo and white mice became good friends. One day, Tatoo asked white mice to go with her to the neighboring house to find some delicious foods but white mice were afraid of danger in that house. Tatoo assured them that there is no risk.

They went to the house and were busy finding food. They heard an unusual voice. Tatoo hid behind a wardrobe and the white mice hid behind a sack of wheat. A few minutes later, when they assured that there is no risk, the white mice came out and asked Tatoo to come out but Tatoo was crying and said that he could not come out. Krapily heard Tatoo’s crying. She came and rescued Tatoo. Tatoo thanked her and said that when we find new friends, we should not forget our old friends and she thanked Krapily for helping her.
