Long Tail Myna

Once there was a nice and green garden in a village. A myna, Long-Tail came from somewhere and she built a nest in the hole of a big tree with the help a magpie.  Some days later a very strong myna, White Beak came to this garden too. Long Tail invited White Beak to her nest and brought her something for eating but White Beak denied the food and said that she liked her nest and asked Long Tail to leave it for her.

White Tail asked her to live together with her but White Beak forced her to leave the nest. Long Tail was crying and said that White Beak would see the result of her cruelness soon.

One day, there was a song competition among birds in the garden. Long Tail was singing very nice. White Beak could not sing any song and she beat the Long Tail and a quarrel took place between them.

Days and nights were passing. One day a storm caused to find nothing for eating in the jungle. White Beak decided to leave her nest to bring some foods for her chicks but magpie prevented her and said that the storm is dangerous but White Beak did not accept and flew. While she was passing a big tree, a heavy rained accompanied the storm and a branch of that tree caused to break White Beak’s wing. She was thinking about her chicks and went by foot till she reached under the tree in which her nest was. The magpie saw her and asked about her wing. White Beak told her the whole story and said that she could not find anything for eating.

Magpie gave her some foods and White Beak wanted to take them to her chicks. She reached to her nest with the help of magpie. When White Beak entered her nest, she heard no voice of her chicks. She cried that Long Tailed might have killed her chicks but her one chick said that they all are alive and said that her two sisters have gone to sleep. White Beak awakened her chicks and wanted them to eat food but her chicks said that a long tail myna brought lots of foods and added they have kept some of them for their mother too.

White Beak asked magpie to bring Long Tail. Long Tail came, White Beak hug her and thanked for helping her chicks and they started a happy life together.
