Most drivers check their vehicles before traveling but sometimes some drivers face problem due to technical faults in their vehicles. If they do not have vehicle repairing tools, they might face more problems.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some drivers about this issue.

A driver, Muhammad Rasool says: “once I forgot my vehicle’s repairing tools in another vehicle and I took some passenger with me. I had almost passed half of the way that my car broke down and I did not have vehicle repairing tools to repair it. All the passengers took another car and they did not pay me and I spent the whole night on the roadside.”

Fazal Hadi, a Mercedes Benz driver says: “I was traveling from Kabul to Spinboldak district, Kandahar province. The wheel bearings of my car broke. I had new ball bearings but as I did not have repairing tools with me, I continued my traveling. When I reached to Qarabagh district, Ghazni province, the wheel broke down and I faced more economic problems.”

What kind of tools do drivers need during traveling?

A driver, Ahmad Zia says: “I have always wrenches; plier, hummer; screwdrivers; spare tire, car jack, a wire for connection and cable with me and I have not faced any big technical fault due to not have vehicle repairing tools.”

Nawroz, a mechanic says: “every driver must have different sizes of wrenches; vacuum petrol; brake pads; dynamo’s fan bolts; spare tire; spare front lights; fuels, a set of  the car jack and so on and the drivers have to check their vehicles before starting their travel.”
