Liver Infection

The liver is a large organ of the body that sits on the right side of the belly which plays a role in the production of bile. The liver protects the chest and could be infected with various types of disease, including infection. The viruses that cause liver damage could be spread through blood or semen, contaminated food or water, or close contact with a person who is infected. The most common types of liver diseases is liver infection.

AEPO’s writer/producer has discussed the disease of liver infection and its symptoms with some patients and a physician.

Laila, a resident of Jalalabad city, Nangarhar province says: “I am suffering from liver infection. I have a headache and body pain. My eyesight is getting worst and even I could not walk.”

Muhammad Omar, a resident of Sayed Noor Muhammad Shah Mena, district 8th, Kabul city says: “I am suffering from liver infection. I do not have an appetite to eat anything; I have nausea and vomiting and I also suffer from boredom and fever. My body is swollen.”

Doctor Faridullah Omari, an infectious disease specialist at infectious diseases hospital, Kabul city says: “Liver infection is a fatal illness. Symptoms of the liver infection are fatigue, vomiting, and abdominal pain, itching in the lid, yellowish skin and eyes, yellowish color Urine, if patients do not pay attention to their problem, it might cause cancer; liver failure, and could lead the patient to death.”

What do people think about the causes of liver infection?

Abdul Mateen, a resident of Kapisa province says: “I am a farmer and I don’t know anything about the causes of liver infection. One day, I was invited to a wedding party and after dinner, my body skin got yellowish and I feel swelling of billy and I also lost my appetite.”

A woman from Kunar province says: “we had a hepatitis patient at home and I did not take care of his cleanliness and his virus transmitted to me.”

Doctor Omari says: “variety of factors damage the liver, such as viruses and alcohol use. Obesity is also associated with liver damage.

all kinds of Hepatitis could be the most common cause of liver infection and also some medications; contaminated foods; contaminated water and air pollution could be the causes of liver infection.”

How do people treat liver infection disease at home?

Abdul Rahman, a resident of Surkhrood district, Nangarhar province says: “I am suffering from liver infection. I was eating pickles; fresh fruits and vegetables and avoided fried and fatty foods but these remedies did not help me and now I came to the hospital for essential treatment.”

Doctor Omari says: “liver infection could be treated in the hospital but eating fresh fruits and vegetables and avoiding fatty and fried foods are recommended.”
