Parents wish their children have a calm and peaceful life, but there are some girls, who face many problems during the first days of their weddings.

The writer/producer of AEPO has talked to some of such girls.

Najiba is resident of Paghman, district of Kabul province says:

“When I was 13 years old, my parents married me to a man who has another wife too. I was not aware of house chores and was facing many problems. The wife of my husband’s brother was telling lies about me to my husband and he continuously threatening me. After passing sometime, I got depression.”

About the causes of these problems, Sharafuddin Azimi, a scholar of psychology says:

“As the newly married girls are not acquainted with the new life; the wants of her father-in-

Law; mother-in-law and other members of the family; changing the behavior of their husbands, create problems to the newly married girls.

If the parents teach their daughters how to behave with the members of their husbands’ families, work as they want and also the family of girls do not interfere in their private lives, they will not face any problems after their marriages.
