Many parents in Afghanistan have the tendency to be their children educated and they enroll them in the school at the age of 6-7. the enrollment of children in the school doubles the responsibilities of the parents towards their children. Some parents help their children in school lessons daily but some others do not. This issue faces the children with some problems.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to some students, their parents and a pedagogue regarding this issue.

Mr. Alim, a resident of Sari Pul province says: “there is no one at home to help me in my school lessons and, I have lost my interest in learning.”

A girl says that she has no supporter in her school lessons and for this reason, she failed in the exam.

Mr. Imad, A pedagogue says: “The relationship between school and parents of the students is very important to each other, whenever there is no such relationship, it is difficult for children to learn well.”

What is the reason for parents' indifference to their children?

A mother from Farah province says: “as I am not educated, I don’t care about my children education.”

Ada, a resident of Nangarhar province says that her parents are not educated, they could not help her in her daily lessons and she is facing problems in learning.

How to solve this problem?

Mr. Imad says: “In the first step, the teacher should assign students accordance with their daily lessons; in the second step, the school administration should set up parents’ meeting at least once a month and ask parents to help children in their daily lessons.”
