Sea-buckthorn Health Benefits

1rst lane:

Emal and Malalai are waiting for peddler in the alley. They see him under the sea-buckthorn tree and go near and greet him. They find out that peddler is eating sea-buckthorn. The peddler invites them for eating sea-buckthorn. Malalai takes some but Emal denies to eat and says that it is not beneficial for health.

Peddler says that eating sea-buckthorn is very beneficial for health and turns on a tape-recorder.

A girl, Nilab says that sea-buckthorn is useful for Troas sore. Another child, Sahil says that sea-buckthorn is useful for constipation.

Peddler turns off the tape-recorder and bring out a book from his bag and gives it to Emal.

Emal reads the book and says that:

sea-buckthorn is useful for fever, and body-ache. It strengthens the heart, reliefs headache, it is also useful for bones pains, skin itching, and facial beauty.

Peddler gives them a branch full of sea-buckthorn and wants them to eat the sea-buckthorns and he goes to the lane of Joke.

2nd Lane:

Peddler enters the alley. Salim and Layla greet him and want him to tell them a joke. Peddler turns on the tape-recorder.

A girl says the following joke:

One-day Ahamad asked his father to write a note to the school office that due to rain and mud, I could not attend the class.

His father asked him then how could you take the note to the office? Ahmad said he would find a dry way to go to school and would give the note to the office. Peddler turns off the tape and goes to the alley of story.

3rd Lane:

Lida and Naseem are waiting for the peddler to come and tells them the 3rd episode of the story of “ Angry Zahra”. Lida asks Naseem if he remembers the previous episode of Zahra or not. Naseem says that in the last episode, we heard that someone had broken the leg of Ghotai’s doll. Ghotai said that Zahra has broken the doll’s leg but Zahra rejects. Ghotai got angry and wanted Zahra to leave her home.

Peddler arrives. Naseem and Lida great him and want to tell them the third episode of the story.

Peddler asks them to tell him the point where the 2nd episode ended. Lida says that Ghotai asked Zahra to leave her home.

Peddler says that when Zahra went home, Ghotai became very sad and went to sleep. She dreamt her doll.

3rd Episode:

Ghotai’s doll says to her that as you don’t want your brother, Mirwais to share your picnic, he broke the doll’s leg. Ghotai doesn’t accept and says that the last time Zahra broke the dishes in the picnic too. Doll says that Mirwais had also broken that dishes and wants Ghotai to watch in the mirror, hanging on the wall.

Ghotai sees that when Zahra and Ghotai went to collect some firewoods, Mirwais comes quietly, breaks the dishes and runs away.

Ghotai’s doll runs away. Ghotai asks her to return but the doll doesn’t hear what Ghotai says.
