A large number of Afghans had emigrated to different countries in recent years, especially to the neighboring countries. Some of them have learned skills and professions and when they came back to their homeland, they became started their businesses and made their economy better.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to Basir Nabizada, a resident of Kabul city.

Nabizada talks about his business, “I was in Pakistan and I was working as an apprentice in a stoneware dishes factory. The owner of the factory was an Afghan. When I learned this skill, I came back to Afghanistan and when I saw that imported stoneware dishes have a good market in Afghanistan, then I opened a stoneware factory.

The dishes are made of different stones such as marble, lazuli, and other colorful stones that are found in abundance in our country. We buy the stone from the stone sellers. First, the stones are cut with a saw to the size of two and three millimeters. Next; we shape them with a wheel. We use glue to touch the stones with each other, and after a few polishes, the dishes are ready for sale and we are satisfied with our sale.”

Turkish Bread:

Some people can earn good money from preparing foods that the price of the imported ones is high in Afghan markets and have a good sale.

AEPO’s writer/producer has talked to Masih Ahamadzai, a resident of Kabul who bakes Turkish bread.

Masih says, “When I considered that Turkish bread was imported from abroad and has a good market and high price, I decided to prepare the same sweat bread inside Afghanistan. I started my work about three years back.

First, we prepare the dough and add milk, eggs, dates, poppy seeds, cheese, and blackseeds to it. After the dough is ready, we put the dough in the machines and after cooking, we sell it to our customers. We prepare and sell about 1000 loaves of bread daily and get 3-5 Afghanis benefits from each loaf of bread. Our customers and families and some stores.”
