Crossing the Road

First Lane:

Halima goes to school with her brother, Mansoor. Mansoor runs and wants to cross the road. Meanwhile, the peddler arrives on his bicycle and hits Mansoor with his bicycle slowly. Peddler greats Haleema and Mansoor and becomes happy that there was no car on the road when Mansoor was crossing the road.

Mansoor says that when he crosses the road quickly, then how a car could hit him. Peddler brings out his talking box from the bag and he turns it on.

A boy, Muhammad Rahim says, “Once I was taking drinking water to my father. When I was crossing the road, I did not check the road and a car hit me and injured my leg. My father took me to the hospital. Now I check both directions to make myself sure that the way is safe for crossing”

Wahidullah says, “When I want to cross the road, I check the road when there is no car, then I cross it and if it is too crowd, I want the help of traffic police or someone else.”

Halima and Mansoor promise to obey traffic regulations when crossing the road. Peddler advises them that if there is a traffic light, wait till the light turns green for the pedestrians.

The rabbit comes out from the peddler’s bag and tells a melody about crossing the road. Children like the melody and peddler goes to the next lane.

Second Lane:

Bashir and his sister, Adila are going to school and they want to cross the road but it is heavy traffic and many cars are on the road and they could not cross the road. Peddler comes and they greet him. Bashir wants the peddler to help them in crossing road. Peddler praises them that they are not crossing the road when there are more cars on the road.

Peddler helps them in crossing the road and then he says the he remembers a joke about crossing the road. The children want him to tell the joke to them too. Peddler tells the following joke:

A father told to his son that when he wants to cross the road, he should check his right and left hands and then he could cross the road. After that day, when the boy was crossing the road, he was bringing his right hand near to his eyes and then his left hand and then he was crossing the road.

The children like and learn the joke. Peddler goes to the lane of the story.
